If I'm Barry Alvarez - the Wisconsin Athletic Director - and Donny Pritzlaff is about to leave and take one of the head coaching vacancies - I pull an ISU a few years back and show Barry Davis the door and promote Donny.  I believe he's that important to the program and a better recruiter.

Hey man, that's just me though.

I wouldn't do that.  How old is Barry?  He can't be as old as Douglass right?

Wisconsin is going to be a good team in a year or two, they have some young studs with Graff, Howe, Rutt.  Another good recruit or two and they could have a really good team.

I could see them doing that, but is Pritzlaff ready?

This all sounds well and good as Rockhard said/implied, why do you think Pritzlaff is a better head coach than Davis? I'm gonna take your statement as a general expression of disatifaction with Davis.

I do not think anyone is saying he is better then Davis. He is saying to you risk losing a young (from all signs) good coach, or do you let him go and hope the older guy sticks around.

He is an okay coach but not in the same likes of Smith, Gable, Brands, J Rob, Douglas or even Ryan, as of now.

I could see them asking Davis to step down and let the young buck take over. If ISU wanted Douglas to step down, who I think is a much better coach than Davis, they could do the same to Davis.

I feel like the whole notion is predicated on the invariability of Pritz eventually taking over. I know davis isn't a standout coach, in some ways he might be considered the height of mediocrity at that level, but I guess I'm just saying these other programs don't have to force history to repeat itself. This topic should be about wisconsin's options.

I don't think anyone is saying they have to force it, but could if a guy like Pritzlaff gets offered a job elsewhere.

You have to earn your status young Skywalker. I can say, the Force is strong with this one, though.

I just wondered due to the fact that all the LXP member's "member jokes" were displaced by their LXP status
