I think Brands wants to win this tournament and they need McD to do that.  This isn't your normal dual format so the weighins won't be as brutal so no reason to hold him out.  McD hasn't seen the competition mat for a week, I think they'll want to keep him sharp with a two week break after this before the Big Tens.

Wanna bet me that McD wrestles?

On a 1 hour weigh-in McD this year and Waters may be closer than some think, but with 4 hours (as this event will be) I don't see McD losing to anyone.

Not entirely sure, but it mght be two hours for teams on the bottom half of the bracket, as in, they may weigh in at 6 PM Central, rather than 4 PM, because both schools are competing in their first dual of the day at that time.

Bryce, fuhr, are you guys coming up to Minnie? I'm on the plane as we speak.

no can do ... have derby with the wife (her teams last game ever).  I'd like to be up there, but my next wrestling event won't be until Nationals.


Iowa vs Minne will come down to 141 and 174...sweep those two weights and you win.  split them again and we're looking at bonus or criteria.

IF McD were to win B10s then someone like Nashon would be the type of guy he'd face in the Semis (4-5 seed)

Just a note: the Cornell Daily Sun reports Dake will be wrestling Evans, Pickett wrestling at 184, and Bosak wrestling Burak. It may just be an error as they listed the Dake/Evans match at 165 and skipped174 at all, but I thought it was interesting.

Dake will MURDER Evans!!!  I think Dake pins Moore though so they might lose a point or two by moving him up.

it would hurt them at 165 and at 184, but make them strong at 174 and 197.  the match ups would be fun to see, but it won't help them win the dual

Nope.  3 consecutive weekends in March had to give up this weekend to pull it off.

Now if there were a split season or the qualifiers and national tournament were not so close to the dual championships I'd be a bit more apt to make it.  But, I'm just a fan who likes to watch wrestling, who wants my opinion.
