I just think HWT is more talented than 165 this year.

I can probably get with that.

Taylor is very entertaining to watch, and great for the sport, but he already got his trophy in 2012.  I would argue that he won with extremely weak competition.  This year 165 is average.  Lets spread the wealth and let someone else earn it.

Taylor, 9 falls, 4 techs, 4 majors, 17-0, previous 2-1-2
Nelson, 7 falls, 6 decisions, 13-0, previous 7-1-1 (I think this was before this weekend)
Howe, 4 falls, 3 techs, 3 techs, 2 majors, 2 decisions, 1 inj def, 12-0, previous 2-1-3

Looks like Taylor to me.

I'm not sure who all Howe will see during the year, but he has a tougher weight than Taylor, not to mention he beat Perry by an honorary bonus win.  For as close as Perry was to doing anything it could have been 100-0.

We're awarding honorary bonus wins now?  That's a good one.  I would tend to agree that 174 has more top end guys than 165, but Caldwell is all I need to see to know that Taylor is more dominant than Howe (which is one of the criteria) regardless of competition.  Howe never majored Caldwell, even during his 37-0 title run.  Even throwing out the Caldwell win over Howe when Howe had a torn hamstring, the dominance of Taylor is too much.  Howe's style will cost him this award.

FS has absolutely no bearing on the Hodge. So its folly to even bring it up in the conversation about the award.

Even as a Sooner fan I agree with Okie. I do think however he has a chance to go the entire year without being taken down. Im not predicting it but it will be fun to keep tabs on.

I'm confused.  Who is talking about FS?

My bad. I misread an earlier post.
