On a live video announcement this morning on FloWrestling, Christian Pyles, Mark Bader and Mike Malinconico make a huge announcement.

Dake vs Chamizo - July 25 - Only On FloWrestling
by Andrew Spey

Wrestling is back, LIVE on FloWrestling, and we're starting an international incident with our main event!

Italy's two-time world champ and Olympic bronze medalist Frank Chamizo is bumping from 74kg to take on America's two-time reigning 79kg world champion Kyle Dake, deep in the heart of Texas!

Kyle Dake vs Frank Chamizo
Saturday, July 25 | 8PM ET
Omni Austin Hotel at Southpark
4140 Governors Row, Austin, TX 78744

Kyle Dake, USA
2010 NCAA Champion, 141 pounds
2011 NCAA Champion, 149 pounds
2012 NCAA Champion, 157 pounds
2013 NCAA Champion, 165 pounds - Hodge Trophy winner
2015 US Team Trials Challenge Tournament Champion, 74kg
2017 US Team Trials Challenge Tournament Champion, 74kg

2015 UWW World Gold, 65kg - Italy
2016 Rio Olympics Bronze, 65kg - Italy
2017 UWW World Gold, 70kg - Italy
2019 UWW World Silver, 74kg - Italy

Its Kid Dynamite vs the International Treasure! But that's not all that going down in Austin. We've also got...

David Taylor vs Pat Downey

The Magic Man is throwing down with the the USA Wrestling's undisputed bad boy, Pat Downey in our co-main event. Taylor ran the gauntlet in 2018, winning UWW world gold at 86kg. Injuries kept David from defending that title, Downey swooped in to claim the world team spot. Now DT is back to retake the throne.

David Taylor, USA
Four-time NCAA finalist
Two-time NCAA champion
Two-time Hodge Trophy winner
2018 UWW World Gold
2019 Pan Am Gold

Pat Downey, USA
2012 Junior World Silver
2018 US Open Champion
2018 Final X Champion
2019 Matteo Pellicone Bronze

Anthony Ashnault vs Luke Pletcher

New Jersey royalty vs the Pride of Pittsburgh. Pletcher has some unfinished business after walking into this year's NCAA championships as the one seed and not getting the opportunity to claim a national title. Ashnault came off his own NCAA title and promptly made the World Team Trials finals, but suffered a devastating knee injury. Now back and healthier than ever, Shnaulty wants to Mob all over Pletchdawg like he did three times in the 2017 season, when the new Pitt assistant was just a freshman.

Anthony Ashnault, USA
2019 NCAA Champion
Four-Time All-American
Two-Time Pan Am Gold
2014 University World Teamer

Luke Pletcher, USA
Two-Time All-American

2020 Big Ten Champion
Two-Time CKLV Champ

Tune in or regret it forever!!! hamizo-headlines-Flo-card-in-Austin-on-July-25

This will be really cool.  I'm glad they are doing this.

Since I don't have Flo I won't be watching, but I'd love to.  I think these will be some fun.   Go to Themat.com forums for their take on how the matches will go.  Very interesting.

Consensus is that Dake Chamizo will be slow 1 st period, but up and down 2nd period.  Chamizo is going up to 79K for this match.  He is slick, Dake is next to impossible to score on so this will be a very tactical match I would think.

Apparently PDIII and Taylor will wrestle 2 periods of 4 minutes, no tech fall.  Wrestle 8 minutes.  The theory being that Taylor will win 100-0 or some such thing.  I think this was Taylor's suggestion and Flo apparently is going with it.  PDIII is throwing it down, lots of words, apparently has a distaste for Magicman, so there will be some blood, good or bad on display.

I don't know about the other match.

Ashnault is 3-0 against Pletcher.  Pletcher is going up from 141, AA is coming down.  AA is looking real good in the room, no apparent affects from teh knee and shoulder surgeries.  If anything, he lacks competition with something on the line, so this will be a good challeng4e for him.

Downey may be done.

Very perceptive buck!

The Woke Police have spoken! He has been booted from the event.

But I have a solution for Downey. He should come out and announce he is no longer identifying as Pat Downey but as.... Patricia Downey! Then all would be forgiven and the Woke gods will be appeased!

What did he do this time?  Or did someone bring to light one of his previous episodes?

Something to the effect that women's wrestling was inferior or boring or something like that.

Ahh that but there's something else that you might find a tad bit disturbing.

Some of the discussion on the other mat referenced accusations of requesting nude photos from under age high school girls.

If true this is a very valid justification and should be expressed as such. If not directly then indirectly such as "Some alarming accusations have been brought to our attention and until those accusations can be resolved, we have made arrangements to replace Patrick Downey"
