Wouldn't folks like to come to sunny Florida in March?  Come for the wrestling and stay for the beaches!

I'm told Florida needs a Div I wrestling school to sponsor the event.

Why does it need to be an annual event?   Olympics are every 4 years and World Championships are every 2.

No Stanford or Fresno so now not a single decent wrestling program left in California.  That's one big state, with a single high school tournament, that will be exporting most of their talent to Oregon State and Arizona State (program was dropped a few years ago then kick saved).

Thinking collegiate gymnastics and wrestling should combine their tournaments.

No.  Gymnastics will get allocated seats which will make it that much harder to get a ticket

The attedence at the NCAA wrestling tournament is outstanding. There is no reason to combine it with any other event.

How many cities even have two venues withy over 16,000 seating?

Do they both draw that well?  In Tampa, Amalie Arena (the former Ice Palace and home of the Lightning) holds over 20k and the Yuengling Center (former Sun Dome on the USF campus) holds over 10k.

Of course, Tampa doesn't have any Division 1 programs ( >:(), so they wouldn't qualify anyway.

The thought of St. Louis yet again is depressing.
