Is the format a round robin with pools?  Or a straight 8 man bracket?  Or some variant?

Straight 8 man bracket, I would assume.
Imagine the good that could be done, if people were less worried about their differences, and more worried about doing good for everyone.

it's being run in one night starting at 8:00.

I'll hazard a guess, 4 bouts, every 15 in the first hour. Short break, then the 2 semi's and 2 consi's, short break, then final and wrestle offs for 3-8, or just 3-4.  Who knows what Flo has in mind.

There is a decreasing payout by placement 1-4 with all guaranteed $1000.

Will there be seeding or blind draws?

Haven't a clue.  I can only presume Flo will seed to avoid first bout collisions.

Maybe the order they are listed is the seeding.  I would like to see Meredith do very well.  I like him.

Looking at that list you may be right.  Of those listed Meredith is the unknown and most likely the most dangerous  of the group.

Ashnault is coming off the injury and has been back in the room for a little over a month.  We'll see how he makes out.

Meredith is good, but lost to an injured Yanni for his final NCAA final appearance.   I haven't seen much of him since, I just know he is still trying to be in the mix.  He recently beat Austin Desanto of Iowa, 11-3.

I don't know why I like Meredith, maybe because he wrestled for a western side school - Wyoming.   But being beat by Yanni when Yanni had a torn ACL does not bode well, although that was years ago.

Meredith has a tough road on this one.  Green and then probably Oliver.  He'll have to get the mental aspect of his game going right now.

I wonder if they will wrestle for a true second place.  I wouldn't want someone to lose $5k just because they were on the wrong side of the bracket.

If I ended up 3rd, I'd definitely be calling for it.

Lose in the first round and you're out. Losers of the semis wrestle for 3rd/4th. No challenge for 2nd. Just the luck of the draw.
