We'll also get to see who the best Pennsylvania team is. Nittany Lions or Hawkeyes.

All things considered, PSU is not a PA team. Though 14 of 35 on the PSU roster are from PA but only 2 start, Beard and Starocci. Of the 8 other starters, 2 are from Arizona, 2 from Indiana, 2 from Minnesota, 1 each from NJ and Maryland

And Iowa is not an Iowa team. Iowa has 10 from IA, but Brands is the only home grown Iowan in the line up......5 of 32 on the Iowa roster are from PA, All 5 are starters, Desanto, Kemerer, Lee, Murin and Young.  Add in 2 from Illinois, and 1 each from Ohio and Missouri.

Desanto did it twice!  Brands was embarrassed.

Good point. So maybe the United States Nittany Lions vs. the Pennsylvania Hawkeyes.

OSU has pulled Kaden Gfeller down to 141.

He’s a threat to AA there

I'm talking real world here.  Iowa is iffy at 149, 157, 184, 197.

They've wrestled well plus Brands even left his teeth marks on PSU.

OU has a good chance to knock off OSU as Big 12 champ this afternoon. I predict there is at least one person posting here who would be thrilled if that happened.

Well, there was a lot of drama around the team result in the Big 12 tournament, much more than in the Big 10 tournament. Going into the last two finals matches, OU was leading OSU in the team score by 124 to 120. At 197, 4-seed freshman AJ Ferrari of OSU wrestled 2-seed sophomore Stephen Buchannan of Wyoming. (Wyoming had four in the finals compared to three for OU and OSU, but the Wyoming loss at 165 had left them fighting Iowa State for 3rd place team.) If Ferrari could have gotten a major, OSU would win outright. But he only won a 13-8 decision, and OU and OSU became conference co-champs with 124 each. Some close matches could have changed this result. At 149, OSU's Boo Lewallen decisioned OU's Mitch Moore 7-6.

Iowa State finished third over Wyoming, 117.5 to 105.5, after Wyoming lost all four of their finals matches.

There were no bonus point wins in the finals. The biggest surprise for me was at 133, where OSU's 1-seed Daton Fix only got a 6-1 decision over OU's unseeded Tony Madrigal. Fix had had two majors and a tech fall against his seeded opponents.

Well its a mixed blessing thats for sure.

But on behalf of the entire Sooner Nation let me offer a hearty BOOMER SOONER to OSU wrestler Kaden Gfeller for his special contribution to our Co-Championship!
