2023 Penn State vs. Michigan
« on: March 30, 2022, 12:46:10 PM »
Just a projected lineup as I see it for 2023 for Penn State vs Michigan.  Please let me know what I have wrong. As with the Penn State vs. Iowa projection I posted here earlier the presumed favorite (as I see it) is listed first:

125 lbs - Nick Suriano - 6th year Senior (Michigan) vs. Robert Howard - RS Sophomore (Penn State)

133 lbs - Roman Bravo-Young - 5th year Senior (Penn State) vs. Dylan Ragusin - RS Sophomore (Michigan)

141 lbs - Beau Bartlett - Junior (Penn State) OR Real Woods - RS Senior (2 yrs Eligibility) IF he transfers to PSU vs. Drew Mattin - 6th year Senior OR Chance Lamer - RS Freshman (Michigan)

149 lbs - Shayne Van Ness - RS Freshman (Penn State) vs. Cole Mattin - RS Freshman (Michigan)

157 lbs - Will Lewan - RS Senior (Michigan) vs Brady Berge - 6th year Senior OR Levi Haines - True Freshman (Michigan)

165 lbs - Cameron Amine - RS Junior (Michigan) vs. Alex Facundo - RS Freshman (Penn State)

174 lbs - Carter Starocci - RS Junior (Penn State) vs. Joseph Walker - RS Sophomore (Michigan)

184 lbs - Aaron Brooks - RS Junior (Penn State) vs. Jalani Embree - 6th year Senior (Michigan)

197 lbs - Max Dean - RS Senior (Penn State) vs. Patrick Brucki - 6th year Senior (Michigan)

285 lbs - Greg Kerkvliet - RS Junior (Penn State) vs. Mason Parris - 5th year Senior (Michigan)

Well, that's a first I think,.  First time I've posted something like this asking for corrections and nobody mentions anything at all that needs to be corrected.

Might have to amend the Penn State lineup here as Penn State grabbed Will Betancourt from the transfer portal (formerly with Ohio State).   Betancourt went 15-6 last season at 133 lbs BUT according to this article Betancourt will be dropping down to 125 lbs and challenge for the starting spot (vs Howard).  Against Div. 1 opponents Betancourt's record was 7-5 at 133 lbs during the 2022 season.

Howard has a history of injuries so it's not a bad backup plan.

Looks like the rumor that Will Betancourt will be at 125 lbs is true:
