How about ASU?  and OSU?  I would think with Zeke and Chris at the helms they would attract folks.

Arizona State has only one verbal commit (to date) for 2023-2024.  Oregon State has three.

What seems - to me - to be very clear is Arizona State's recruiting has taken a nose dive since Chris Pendleton left ASU for OSU.  Zeke - IMO - needs to find a recruiting guy to replicate the great job that Pendleton did for ASU.  If he doesn't address that need soon the ASU wrestling program will almost certainly continue downward.

According to the Pinfall recruiting website there is a sixth 2023-24 commit for Stanford.  Namely Tye Monteiro of Bakersfield.  However they (Pinfall) do not have the most recent Stanford commit, i.e., Lorenzo Norman of the Blair Academy.

So - to update these now SIX 2023-2024 Stanford wrestling verbal commits we have the following list:

125 lbs (not 133) - Jacob Joyce of Ponaganset, R.I. - 2022 R.I. State champion at 120 lbs - 2021 R.I. State runner-up at 120 lbs - 2020 R.I. State champ at 106 lbs

141 lbs (not 133) - Lain Yapoujian of Byers, CO. - 2022 CO. State champion at 138 lbs - Placed 3rd at 2021 CO. State tournament at 138 lbs - 2020 CO. State champ at 132 lbs

149/157 lbs (not 141) - Zach Hanson of Lakeville, MN. - 2022 MN State champion at 145 lbs - Placed 2nd at 2021 MN State tournament at 132 lbs - Placed 2nd at 2020 MN State tournament at 113

174 lbs - Lorenzo Norman of Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J. - 2022 National Prep champion at 160 lbs (won 9-3 in the finals) - He has competed at 170 lbs as well.

174 lbs - Abraham Wojcikiewicz of Bethalto, IL. - Placed 3rd at 2022 IL State tournament.  Placed 4th at the 2021 NHSCA tournament at 152 lbs

184/197 lbs - Tye Monteiro of Bakersfield, CA. - Placed 2nd at 2022 CA State tournament at 182 lbs.  Placed 4th at 2021 NHSCA tournament at 182 lbs.  Placed 8th at 2020 CA State tournament at 152 lbs

Minor error on my part - I forgot to include that Wojcikiewicz 2022 weight class was at 170 lbs.

Interesting observation.   I would figure Zeke would be able to attract folks.  But maybe he is too old for the HS kids these days.

I could be wrong about this but it was my understanding that while Pendleton was at Arizona State he was the main recruiting guy for the Sun Devils.   That was one of the reasons - again as I understand it - why he was such an attractive option for Oregon State as their new head wrestling coach.

Then Zeke better get moving.   Perhaps Zahid will be that new guy.
